CONCORD, NC. – Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation today announced that it has established a national drayage service center to provide current and future customers with a more streamlined and scalable nationwide drayage solution.

Based in Atlanta, GA, the center connects shippers with reputable dray capacity to and from ocean ports and rail ramps across the United States and Canada.  In addition, it pairs well with Cardinal’s transloading services.

“Over the last three years, customers have seen their storage and per diem bills skyrocket out of control. While providers point fingers in different directions the customer ends up paying these bills just to keep the supply chain flowing,” said Andrew Lesinski, president of Cardinal’s Brokerage Division. “After years of providing these drayage services through our individual brokerage offices, we’re excited to be offering them via this single, centralized location – which will allow us to help customers course correct and execute at a faster pace when dealing with budget busters.”

Typically shorter than other ground transits, dray moves usually represent the first leg of an import shipment’s domestic transportation journey or the last leg of an export shipment’s. They’re also used to help facilitate inland intermodal transfers.

“This is a clear sign of Cardinal’s ongoing commitment to customers in the drayage space and to providing them with end-to-end transportation excellence,” said Lesinski.  “ A big question is what do customers do for chassis? Do we go with a private chassis, pool chassis, or a grey pool. Our solution team is putting together a number of options around the most common challenges. We’re looking forward to growing our presence in this dynamic market.”
